the future of interfaces

Tuesday, Aug 29, 2006

jeff han [1] is a researcher at the new york university. he gave a talk at the ted-conference . if you’re a bit interested in the - possible - future of interface design, you have to watch the ~9 minute-long video below. it nearly blew my socks of, when i imagined how i could swipe through my 7000+ images on my hd like that. handling of big chunks of date seems to be really fun with that kind of interface.

Saturday, Aug 26, 2006

Habi.Norml did you ever wonder how you’re gonna look in some years? or how you would look if born in another part of your world? or look when painted?

then you have to go and check out the free face transformer from the perception laboratory of the university of st. andrews ! it’s really quite funny and made me laugh!

you just feed it an image of yourself, something like the image on the top left, and you get the results below (clicketyclick for bigger):

Monday, Aug 14, 2006

this weekend ninas brother got married to karin . they planned a big party in their garden, but unfortunately the weather was a bit more like november than august. so they had to last-minute-reschedule the whole wedding to a restaurant. in the end everything turned out really great, and the party ended quite early in the morning. a wedding to remember; congratulations karin and andi!

i didn’t take that many pictures, but if you want to look at them, you can do so here :

getting rid of comment spam

Tuesday, Aug 8, 2006

just a quick note to all the MT -users under my readers: since i’ve implemented this anti-spam measure a month ago, i’ve gotten TWO single comment spams. i didn’t even bother analyzing them carefully, wether they’ve been submitted by a robot or a human.

i must say it’s quite a relief, going from five comment-spams per minute to two spam-comments per month.

and since i haven’t heard from chris - the server admin - i guess the load on the server must have gone down a bit, too.
